Box office saw one major release this week. Dharma production’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani starring ex flames, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The movie was directed by Ayan Mukerji of Wake Up Sid’s fame.

Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani managed to make 20 crores on Friday itself. It broke all the records at Box office and emerged as the biggest opener of 2013 but couldn’t beat Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2’s record which to date remain the biggest opener of 2012.

The movie made 62.11 crores on its opening weekend and the earnings went up to 75.11 crores by close of business Monday. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani beat the records of blockbusters like Special 26, ABCD – Any Body Can Dance, Aashiqui 2. It will soon make it to the 100 crore club and surpass Saif Ali Khan starrer Race 2, which made the highest earnings of 102 crores this year.
