Kismet Love Paisa Dilli

Why do directors who dished out such promising debut films, falter so badly in their second offering? First Sagar Ballary did it and now it is Sanjay Kandhury’s turn. If Ballary’s fall from a brilliant Bheja Fry to an obnoxious Bheja Fry 2 was one wretched story, then Kandhury’s descent from a winsome Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local to an intolerable Kismet Love Paisa Dilli is an even worse addendum.

What’s the plot?

A smooth-talking skirt-chaser (Vivek Oberoi) boards the night’s last Metro train. But little does he know that he is about to get caught up in a murder mystery as the main suspect! While on the run, he befriends a hot chick (Mallika Sherawat), only to keep defending her against an ever-growing list of potential rapists! Meanwhile the night is just warming up and it will throw in many weird, wacky characters in the couple’s path. With many plots working within the plot, where will it all end?

What’s hot?

·         Nothing really!

·         First 15 – 20 minutes are interesting but then the film goes into a free fall.

·         Vivek Oberoi tries his best with his limited acting prowess but then finds that it is an uphill task!

What’s not?

·         Assortment of weird characters and a wild merry-go-round of interconnected events had worked well in Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local but here the same formula falls flat on face.

·          The writing is inane and risqué.

·         Mallika Sherawat, Ashutosh Rana, Neha Dhupia and a whole bunch of little-known actors deliver insipid performances.

Verdict

Crude, crass and unfunny!
