Kambakht Ishq

After remaining on the sidelines for quite some time, composer Anu Malik makes a mini- comeback to Bollywood's big league with Kambakht Ishq. The film has received its fair share of brickbats for being a brainless 'entertainer' (!) and the soundtrack too belongs to the same category!

As expected the album is full of frothy, foot-tapping and ultimately forgettable dance- tracks spruced up by fast rhythms, feisty club sounds and fusion. The first track – Om Mangalam (composed and sung by RDB) sets the tone for this fast ride and then Neeraj Shridhar's Lakh Lakh, Alisha Chinai's Bebo Main Bebo, KK – Sunidhi Chauhan's Kambakht Ishq and Karsh Kale- Anushka Manchanda's Welcome To Hollywood follow in its silly dancing footsteps. As if this overkill is not enough, many of them once again come back as remixes!
One tune that somewhat saves this album is Kyun Phoolon Ke Rang Ud Gaye. This sweet romantic melody is superb and both its versions (a Shreya Ghoshal– Shaan duet and a Shreya – solo) prove memorable.
