Sachin Gupta

 

Composer Sachin Gupta's previous Bollywood musical forays like Juggad and Dil Kabaddi had sunk without a trace. If the soundtrack of Prince does slightly better then it would be only thanks to Atif Aslam's dominating vocal presence.

 

Aslam's unconventional edgy vocals have found a large fan-following and those fans are going to lap up his multiple offerings from this soundtrack. Going with the thriller-theme of the film, most of the songs are racy and rhythmic. Aslam's O Mere Khuda sets the tone to the thumping beats. Later the same tune comes back in a mellower version as Aa Bhi Jaa Sanam. Aslam's melancholic Kaun Hoon Main fails to score but his teamwork with Shreya Ghoshal in the romantic duet Tere Liye is excellent. Sachin Gupta himself renders an unplugged version of the latter tune.

 

The rest of the album features two mediocre item numbers (Ishq Mein and Jiyraa), an instrumental theme and a host of remixes.
