Naushad (December 25, 1919 - May 5, 2006)  Born in Laucknow, UP, Naushad is considered to be one of the greatest composers in Hindi film music. His extensive use of Indian classical and folk music played an important role in popularizing those genres. Mentoring many talented singers including legends such as Rafi and Lata, Naushad's best music came in the decades from 40s to 60s. Rattan , Anmol Ghadi, Shahjehan, Shabab, Udan Khatola and Mughal-E- Azam were some his milestone soundtracks. |
