Indra Kumar’s successful movies (Beta, Ishq, Masti, Grand Masti, Dhamaal) have either been mass-oriented masala films or banal comedies. The silly, superfluous and sexual humor worked for him in Masti and Grand Masti; whereas in Dhamaal, he just stuck to the ‘silly and superfluous’ formula. This third installment in Dhamaal-series follows the same formula.

An adaptation of the 1960s Hollywood comedy ‘It’s a mad mad mad world’, ‘Total Dhamaal’ gets together a big cast of capable actors- (Most of whom are repeat performers in this camp!) and then serves a patchy tale of a stolen (and hidden!) booty being chased by multiple wacky characters. Filled with crazy one-liners and outrageous gags- (Some of which are lifted from old Hollywood comedies!)- this film is perfect for those days when you want to keep your brain aside and just laugh at the silliness of it all!

If you can’t keep your thinking hat aside for a moment and demand logic and sense all the time, then you need not bother watching Total Dhamaal. For others, it may provide some genuine and some forced laughs for sure!
